Synthesis, classification and application of nanoparticles

Nanotechnology offers innovation opportunities for companies in many sectors, such as electronics, medicine, energy, materials and the environment. The Research Units linked to the NIT Rio Arrangement have laboratories and qualified professionals to develop technology for the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, with applications in cosmetics, disease treatment and nanotoxicology, among others. One promising line of research at CBPF concerns the use of magnetic nanoparticles to treat cancer. Another example is the use of nanoparticles to create dietary supplements and regenerate bone tissue, reducing the body’s rejection of titanium implants, as well as applications of nanoparticles in the electronics industry. With so many applications, R&D&I partnerships in nanotechnology generate high added value for companies seeking nanotechnology solutions to stand out in the market and promote health and well-being for society.
