Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Applications of ML, Deep Learning, high-performance computing, statistical and big data analysis for sound decision-making
Decision-making is a process that requires the ability to analyze large volumes of data. The scientific results of our institutions involve developing predictive models using advanced Artificial Intelligence techniques, with equipment such as Santos Dumont, the fastest academic supercomputer in Latin America, with a processing capacity of 5.1 quadrillion operations per second – in theory, equivalent to more than 10 million home laptops. Another example is the use of AI to speed up the analysis of wells, rocks and reservoirs for oil and gas companies, making decision-making easier and allowing the sector to save billions of dollars a year. Such solutions can be applied in many other industry sectors that rely on large amounts of data, such as health, finance and energy companies.
